Associate Director – Data Architect Corporate Functions at Novartis

Key Responsibilities

This role includes, but is not limited to:

• Supporting the creation and execution of data management strategies for Corporate Functions.
• Implementing and adopting enterprise data management principles to elevate data maturity levels.
• Customizing and adopting enterprise data policies, frameworks, guidelines, and standards for Corporate Functions.
• Creating logical and physical data models based on business requirements.
• Ensuring solutions align and are documented according to Novartis data architecture principles.
• Collaborating with domain- and solution-architects to deliver compliant solution architectures.
• Defining and tracking key performance indicators related to data architecture deliverables.
• Maintaining data landscapes and data flows for Corporate Functions.
• Providing data architecture training, coaching, and expert-level advice.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• 5-10 years of relevant work experience, preferably within multinational organizations. Significant expertise in data management, ideally in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
• At least a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology. Advanced degrees and related certifications are a plus.
• Hands-on experience in data management, data strategy, data governance, data architecture, and source-to-target mapping processes.
• Experience in data governance, master data management, metadata management, and data quality management.
• Proven ability to establish successful relationships with senior leaders from IT and non-IT backgrounds.
• Experience managing projects with multi-functional teams in a matrixed environment.

Desirable Skills

Experience in an IT environment supporting Corporate Functions and familiarity with Data Governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK or DCAM are highly desirable.
