Job Description
The AI/ML Risk Management Associate will join our Model Governance Solutions (MGS) team. The MGS team strives to ensure consistency, compliance, and sustainability in first-line model management operations across the organization. The team's areas of expertise include:
- Ownership, regular updates, and maintenance of 1st line of defense (LoD) model management procedures, templates, and working groups.
- Driving regulatory responses and support for 1st LoD model management.
- Conducting compliance reviews, reporting, and enforcement for 1st LoD model management.
- Providing relevant training and consultations for the 1st LoD on model management lifecycle requirements.
- Coordinating and representing the 1st LoD community concerning model management requirements and activities.
As a valued collaborator, you will assist the team in identifying potential model risks that could impact our reputation, safety, security, and financial prosperity. Moreover, you will work closely with other team members to engage in effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization to understand business objectives.
THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
As an AI/ML Risk Management Associate, you’ll have the flexibility to make each day unique while working alongside people who care. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Executing tactical governance compliance elements for models, primarily focused on third-party models using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
- Cooperating with stakeholders and team members to ensure that AI/ML regulatory guidance activities occur.
- Collaborating with the MGS team to guarantee that necessary actions under the company's AI/ML Risk Management Standard and model risk management framework are taken.
- Working with key stakeholders to identify elevated risks, controls, and value of prospective AI/ML use cases.
- Partnering with Model Risk Management and other functions to ensure requisite review and efficient challenging of new models.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver training content to raise awareness about AI/ML and model risk processes and controls.
Qualifications

Desired Experiences
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in risk management or governance, preferably with exposure to model risk and/or AI/ML
- Proven track record of execution focus, strong prioritization, and planning capabilities
- Effective relationship management skills to engage with team members and stakeholders as required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex processes in business terms.
Skills
- Aptitude to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements in daily activities.
- Ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
- Comfort in operating within a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Experience in data analysis to identify trends or relationships that inform data-related conclusions.
- Capacity to collaborate respectfully and cooperatively with individuals having different functional expertise towards a common goal.
- Proficiency in creating visual concepts, creating and editing content either manually or with computer software to convey ideas.
- Adept at presenting information and ideas to an audience in an engaging and comprehensible manner.
- Experience in governance and compliance, including creating policies, evaluating compliance, conducting internal investigations, developing data governance, etc.
- Relationship management skills, including stakeholder engagement, customer relationship building, vendor management, and networking.
- Ability to stay abreast of industry and regulatory standards, best practices, and business processes in model risk management.
- Self-starter.
- Strong organizational skills.
