We are hiring a progressive Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. This role is purposely designed for a professional skilled not only in dissecting data but also in crafting innovative solutions using advanced statistical techniques such as Machine Learning and AI. Your analytical expertise will be crucial in addressing complex questions and providing innovative solutions to emerging challenges. KEY JOB DUTIES

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging in descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive data analytics and translating complex scenarios into actionable insights.
  • Establishing your own workstreams to support our current analytics strategy while helping us advance towards our future vision and meet the needs of the function and help us achieve our roadmap.
  • Cooperating with internal audit colleagues to identify and define the business questions that provide value and the pertinent problems we are aiming to mitigate.
  • Developing analytics throughout the internal audit lifecycle i.e. audit needs assessment, audit planning, fieldwork, reporting and ongoing issue validation.
  • Applying advanced statistical techniques such as Machine Learning and AI to analyze both core and non-core business data.
  • Leading the automation of data analysis processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Developing business relationships effectively and communicating data-driven insights in business terms to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Supporting our function to provide greater assurance and insight by enhancing the data literacy and analytical capabilities of team members through workshops and training sessions.
  • Proposing innovative ideas to improve the analytics systems and processes within the team, and fostering a data literate and best practice mindset across the team.
  • Cultivating a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging the adoption of cutting-edge data analysis techniques.

Qualifications

The successful candidate may have diverse background:

  • A progressive IT or risk professional from any industry. Having strong & proven quantitative analytical skills within analytics functions within financial services will be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in data analytics, with a portfolio showcasing innovative use of Machine Learning, AI, and automation in business contexts.
  • Strong analytical skills capable of dissecting complex data and distilling it into simple, actionable insights.
  • Crafting and presenting findings & analyses in a structured and well-thought-out manner, especially when addressing a non-expert audience.
  • Possessing team-working capabilities and the ability to form strong individual, team and stakeholder relationships.
  • Having a creative and innovative mindset, open to exploring unique approaches to problem-solving through the use of Machine Learning, AI, and automation.
  • Experienced in facilitating workshops and training sessions to enhance team capabilities.
  • Possessing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
