Azure Cloud Database Administrator Position at Emerson

Responsibilities:

• Proactively provision VMs, select appropriate VM sizes based on workload requirements, and configure OS settings for enhanced security and compliance.
• Manage and monitor Azure storage resources to guarantee data availability and reliability.
• Implement role-based access controls, assigning permissions to users to ensure secure and authorized resource usage.
• Set up Azure monitoring alerts to maintain system integrity.
• Configure and manage load balancers and Application Gateways to optimize traffic flow and distribution.
• Create and manage network routing and security protocols to safeguard inbound and outbound network traffic.
• Develop insights through building dashboards in Log Analytics to assess the health and performance of Azure environments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and manage databases such as Oracle (including 19c, 12c, and 12.2 EBS) and SQL Servers.
• Handle routine DBA tasks such as health checks, troubleshooting, and installations.
• Administer patches, upgrades, and backups for EBusiness applications and databases, specializing in Oracle Data Guard and RMAN operations.
• Enhance system performance with expertise in UNIX shell scripting and understanding OS parameters.

Required Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in Azure Cloud Administration.
• Availability to work in flexible 24*7 shift patterns.
