Your Role

As an Azure Data Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on pivotal technology projects and enhance our data handling capabilities. This role is based in Lisbon and offers a hybrid working model, providing both flexibility and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement efficient data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory.
• Develop and maintain robust data models and databases in Azure SQL Database or Azure Cosmos DB.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval systems for enhanced performance and cost-efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to determine data requirements and deliver precise solutions that align with business needs.
• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues in data processing and integration workflows to maintain high data quality and reliability.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering.
• Advanced degree (B.S. or M.S.) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure technology stack including SQL Server, Event Hubs, Data Lake, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, and Databricks.
• Extensive experience with Python, Spark, and SQL.
• Expertise in ETL, Data Lakes, and Data Warehousing concepts and methodologies.
• Familiarity with Azure Databricks and Delta Live Tables.
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and collaborative teamwork.
• Excellent data modeling and schema design skills.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) scripting tools like Bicep or Terraform.
• Microsoft Fabric Certification is a plus.
