Job Description: Azure Data Science Engineer

As an Azure Data Science Engineer, you will apply software engineering principles to design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate software solutions that provide business capabilities and product suites. You will be responsible for systems life cycle management, including analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, and implementation of systems and applications software. Your role will ensure the timely and within-budget delivery of technical solutions. You will also research and support the integration of emerging technologies.

Your responsibilities include supporting applications’ development, integration, and maintenance. You will develop program logic for new applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications. You will analyze requirements, test, and integrate application components, ensuring system improvements are successfully implemented. You may specifically focus on web/internet applications using various languages and platforms. Additionally, you will define application complexity drivers, estimate development efforts, create milestones and timelines, and track progress towards completion.

You will provide specific functional expertise that is theoretical and conceptual in nature, typically acquired through a combination of university education and field experience. You may have supervisory responsibilities as a "player coach," but individual expertise will be your primary focus, especially at higher levels where sophisticated subject matter expertise is crucial for success.

Applying your working knowledge and experience in your job discipline, you will continue to broaden your capabilities and understanding of the company, its processes, and its customers. You will solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using experience, judgment, and precedents, impacting the quality of your work and that of others on the team. You will perform a range of assignments with a moderate level of guidance and direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
• 2 years of experience with data engineering/sciences
• Experience with Databricks or competing technologies like Snowflake
• Experience with Azure and other cloud technologies
• Experience with COSMOS or other NoSQL databases like Couchbase or MongoDB
• Experience with SQL Server (SSIS Packages) or other RDBMS like Oracle
