Role Overview

As a Backend Java Engineer, you'll focus on designing, implementing, testing, and delivering robust backend data integrations and processing capabilities to enhance our application. You will be integral to the product development process, ensuring we build a next-generation data integration and preparation tool for both cloud and enterprise users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain connectors for disparate data from multiple sources
  • Create server-side components and web services for geospatial data processing and user experiences
  • Deliver scalable, reliable capabilities that support various environments, from on-premises to integrated SaaS
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and integrate them into the software
  • Be entrepreneurial, seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of industry experience in Java development
  • Strong grasp of API design and Java design patterns
  • Experience with data storage systems such as data warehouses and object stores
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and time management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python and Scala
  • Proficiency in Spark or distributed computing
  • Knowledge of Docker containers and orchestrators like Kubernetes
  • Experience with Java build systems and developer operations
  • Master's degree in computer information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field

Compensation decisions for this role are based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, training, certifications, and business and organizational needs. The estimated base salary range for this position is $93,600—$156,000 USD.
