The Opportunity:

As a Big Data Architect, you play a crucial role in digital transformation by managing data effectively to enable growth and efficient operations. In this role, you will spearhead data engineering tasks on mission-critical projects across diverse industries. Deploy and develop advanced pipelines and platforms that organize and extract meaning from scattered data sets. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team consisting of scientists, data engineers, developers, and data consumers within an agile and fast-paced environment. Utilize tools like AWS EMR, Databricks, Kafka, and Spark to elevate your technical skills, establish best practices, and innovate solutions that make a lasting impact on cybersecurity.

Job Requirements:

You should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex data applications at an enterprise level.
  • 3+ years of experience in creating custom software for retrieving, parsing, and processing both structured and unstructured data.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing scalable ETL and ELT workflows, essential for advanced analytics and reports.
  • Adept at working within collaborative, cross-functional team environments.
  • Proficiency in distributed data and computing tools like Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, Kafka.
  • Capabilities to script and develop programs needed for data conversion, adapting to various formats to enhance scalability.
  • A Bachelor's degree in data engineering or related field, or an equivalent experience of 8+ years in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Nice If You Have:

  • Profound experience in application development and familiarity with cybersecurity systems within Air Force defense operations.
  • Experience in UNIX, Linux, Shell scripting, and public cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Real-time data and streaming application development experience.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL implementations including MongoDB or Cassandra, and data warehousing solutions like AWS Redshift, MySQL, or Snowflake.
  • Experience in adopting Agile engineering practices.
  • Eagerness to learn and integrate new technologies and methodologies in the rapidly evolving tech space.

Salary range: $84,600 to $193,000 annually, based on skill level. Applicants must be eligible for security clearance.
