Job Description

We are excited to announce a new 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a Business Data Analyst - Finance at TAL. In this role, you will collaborate with programmers, engineers, and business SMEs to identify process improvement opportunities, recommend system changes, and develop data governance policies. Your work will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions within our Finance Team.

You will support identifying business challenges and opportunities related to data consumed and produced by the Finance teams, optimizing and improving our processes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead documentation of business requirements for key data acquisition and transformation processes in Finance.
  • Support projects enhancing the data capabilities of the Finance team.
  • Report and present key findings and insights back to the business.
  • Develop creative solutions for data quality management and control.
  • Apply risk management principles to design and implementation phases of project deliverables.
  • Maintain excellent communication with team members, customers, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a business analyst or similar role, preferably within Life Insurance.
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence tools, including SQL, data analysis, and visualization tools.
  • Experience in process modeling and workflow analysis.
  • Proficient in composing data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and performing data analysis and reconciliations.
  • Experience with system migrations and/or integrations.
  • Basic understanding of programming languages.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
