Overview

We are currently in search of a Business Intelligence Analyst with a focus on finance to join our dynamic team at Asana in our San Francisco office. This influential role will require collaboration with both business and finance teams, providing them with valuable insights and metrics that drive superior decision-making. With an emphasis on analytical prowess within our Enterprise Technology team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing business performance through data-driven insights and technical solutions.

This full-time role is designed for those who thrive in office-centric hybrid environments with in-office work scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Flexibility for home-based work is offered for other weekdays depending on job nature and team coordination needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate extensively with financial and technical stakeholders to pinpoint use cases and gather analysis, reporting, and automation requirements.
• Design, develop, and manage innovative data products that provide strategic, actionable insights to internal stakeholders.
• Create and maintain advanced dashboards, reports, and visualizations that clearly communicate key metrics and insights.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of our core data warehouse.
• Ensure efficient documentation for data models, metrics, and reports, enhancing user accessibility and comprehension.
• Support the development and optimization of BI solutions, applications, and systems through rigorous testing and debugging.
• Liaise with data engineers and BI developers to maintain and troubleshoot BI environments effectively.
• Actively engage in our Tableau Center of Excellence team, promoting innovative ideas and best practices within the Asana data community.

Your Expertise

• Demonstrated analytical skills and a strategic mindset adept at transforming complex data into actionable insights.
• Previous experience in financial reporting and familiarity with record-to-report processes are preferable.
• Proficiency in SQL and extensive experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Understanding of MPP databases (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and knowledge of Data Warehousing principles.
• Excellent project management skills, capable of prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and an ability to introduce organizational improvements.

What We Offer

The estimated base salary for this role ranges from $182,000-$232,000, depending on market factors and individual performance.
