Job Description
What you’ll be doing
At Meridian, we're committed to expanding advanced analytics to enable us to use machine learning models and AI to gain meaningful insights from data, and that's where this role fits in. The role will play a crucial part in using the actionable insights of data to achieve business objectives to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
The job involves providing strategic direction and expertise around leveraging data science techniques and technologies to extract actionable insights, solve complex business problems, and drive data-driven decision-making across the business from Generation, Wholesale, and Retail.
The role includes leading data science teams, overseeing project execution, developing advanced data models, ensuring data privacy and ethics compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize the value of data assets.
What you’ll bring
A Master’s degree or equivalent in either Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related Quantitative Methods field
Previous experience in a Data Scientist role, leading initiatives using Data Science to drive value and improve decision-making
Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
Experience in establishing Data Science Practice to promote knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization
Proficient in modern programming language such as Python or R
