Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cloud Database Engineer (MS SQL DBA) to join our team remotely. The candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive database engineering and administration activities, which include:

• Designing, planning, and configuring databases.
• Monitoring, automation, and self-serviceability.
• Alerting and space management.
• Database backup and recovery.
• Developing and maintaining operational guidelines and documentation.
• Leading and advising on database migration and modernization projects.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have the expertise to:

• Plan and manage computerized databases, ensuring structure, documentation, and protection.
• Execute workload migrations to Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Manage database performance, high availability, and disaster recovery (HADR).
• Proficiently handle database migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime and ensuring version compatibility.

Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate must have:

• Proficiency in SQL Server Architecture, Installation, and Configuration.
• Excellent skills in Performance Tuning, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery (HADR).
• Strong experience in Monitoring and Troubleshooting SQL Server.
• Knowledge of deploying and managing SQL Server in cloud platforms such as Azure SQL Database and Amazon RDS.
• Familiarity with industry best practices for SQL Server administration, including configuration settings and maintenance tasks.
• The ability to communicate technical information and ideas effectively.
• Leadership skills and the ability to create solutions for unexpected situations.

Desired Experience

• Experience working in AWS/Azure cloud environments.
