Job Summary:

Apple's influential Applied Machine Learning team is expanding, and we are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Cloud Operations and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). Bolster our efforts to manage and innovate large-scale data science applications across multiple lines of business using the latest technologies. This position is key in driving Apple towards enhancing business value through data management and infrastructure excellence.

Key Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Profound knowledge of AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes.
• Skilled in CI/CD pipeline constructions for large-scale applications.
• Effective skills in CloudFormation, Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, and GitOps tools like Spinnaker, Flux, Argocd.
• In-depth understanding of networking on the cloud: VPCs, DNS, Security Groups, and Kubernetes network model.
• Programming proficiency in Unix, Python, and Java, alongside a solid grasp of data security for cloud-based applications.

Role Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Developing, porting, and managing software applications on cloud environments such as AWS and GCP, with a focus on Kubernetes.
• Automating processes to support the infrastructure for big data applications, ensuring systems are scalable, performant, and secure.
• Implementing monitoring tools to oversee application performance across various environments.
• Troubleshooting and resolving network, system, and performance issues.
• Participating in agile, fast-paced projects that contribute to Apple's innovative ecosystem.

Education & Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with at least 4 years' experience, or a Master’s degree plus 2 years' experience in related fields.

Pay & Benefits:

At Apple, you will receive a competitive salary range from $138,900 to $256,500, based on your skills and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, retirement benefits, discounted Apple products, and tuition reimbursement among others. Eligible candidates may also receive bonuses, commission payments, and stock options.
