Job Description:

We are excited to announce a career opportunity for a Data Architect at Genomics England. In this vital role, you will be at the forefront of designing state-of-the-art data architectures that are central to our strategic objectives. Your expertise will help us shape the architecture necessary to underpin the future of genomic healthcare and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and manage data requirements by collaborating with stakeholders, ensuring architectural and strategic alignment.
  • Create sophisticated data designs to balance technical requirements and organizational goals.
  • Effectively communicate the data architecture plans and updates across diverse groups within the organization.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive data architectures that encompass data flow, lifecycle, security, and integrity.
  • Mentor developers and oversee the realization of the data architecture, ensuring alignment with designed frameworks.
  • Establish and maintain data architecture standards, driving compliance and governance.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in database technologies such as AWS native services, Aurora, Neptune, OpenSearch, and others.
  • Extensive experience in architecting and delivering modern data platforms.
  • Knowledge of data governance, quality management, and cataloging.
  • Familiarity with TOGAF and other architectural frameworks.
  • Experience in healthcare-related data systems is advantageous.

Qualifications:

No specific qualifications required, but relevant experience and skills are crucial.
