In this role, you will spearhead the development of data systems, models, and architecture within our data platform. Your efforts will drive business profitability by enhancing data management practices through agile frameworks and advanced technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop data architecture frameworks and principles.
• Execute Data Architecture roadmaps and implement frameworks within scope.
• Provide input into the SDLC and ensure its alignment with data architecture principles.
• Optimize cost efficiencies by enhancing agile frameworks and processes.
• Align to FirstRand's strategic data platforms to meet business growth demands.
• Ensure data architecture principles align with information management disciplines such as data quality and metadata management.
• Stay updated on advancements in data and technology to simplify data architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to promote data architecture principles.
• Identify and resolve interconnected problems by employing best practice solutions.
• Support Information Architects in ensuring compliance with group architectural policies.
• Streamline advanced analytical model deployment through aligned data pipelines and agile methodologies.
• Participate in relevant committees to ensure compliance with Data Architecture standards.
• Monitor operational issues and uphold high levels of data ethics.
• Design and improve platform enablement solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to assess data architectural requirements.
• Evaluate current data management technologies.
• Contribute to and update the repository of data architecture artifacts and procedures.
• Guide development and implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) and Management Information Solutions (MIS).
• Ensure alignment of data platforms to enterprise data models (EDM) and enterprise data warehouses (EDW).
• Consider IT Risk and Governance Standards when developing data architectural frameworks.
• Promote the non-duplication of data principles in solutions (master data management).
• Collaborate in developing common data models, taxonomies, and business vocabulary.
• Develop data pipelines, models, and database structures.
• Drive awareness of Data Architecture and its related risks within the organization.
• Train relevant stakeholders on data architecture framework, policies, and principles.
• Liaise with various stakeholders such as Data Modellers and Solutions Architects about architectural designs.
• Stay abreast of best practices and emerging technology trends.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and approval of new data architecture solutions.
• Research new opportunities for data acquisition in partnership with business.
