Data Architect Lead at Guardian

Guardian is on the lookout for a skilled Data Architect Lead to enhance our team. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining a dynamic data infrastructure that ensures smooth and secure access to high-quality data for all authorised stakeholders within Guardian and its subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Data Architect Lead, your duties will include:

  • Defining and managing the team's backlog and workflow using Kanban and/or SAFe Agile methodologies.
  • Collaborating closely with the Head of Data Architecture to identify data requirements and streamline priorities.
  • Leading the design and implementation of innovative data software solutions and visual workflows.
  • Facilitating the transformation of business and functional specifications into scalable data solutions.
  • Conducting thorough data analysis, including profiling, dictionary creation, and transformation rules.
  • Developing and overseeing multi-platform data architecture focused on standards, growth, and scalability.
  • Contributing to enterprise data integration projects and applying data standardization policies.
  • Engaging in QA and UAT activities to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of data solutions.

Who You Are:

An analytical thinker with a proactive approach, passionate about transforming abstract concepts into effective, scalable data processes. You collaborate effectively across IT and strategic business units, embedding best practices in data governance and management within enterprise-wide projects.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of IT experience, particularly in roles such as Data Architect or Data Engineer.
  • Expertise in relational and non-relational database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, Postgres).
  • Advanced skills in data modeling, SQL, and PL/SQL; familiarity with tools like Erwin.
  • Experience with cloud data services (Redshift, RDS, Snowflake, Databricks) and ETL processes.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability to change.
  • Experience in SAFe and agile development environments is advantageous.

Location and Salary:

This position is based in Holmdel, NJ, New York, NY, or Bethlehem, PA, requiring two days a week in-office presence with occasional travel to other locations. The salary range is $91,260 to $149,925, determined by candidate's qualifications and experience.
