Job Description

Our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) portfolio houses a stellar collection of customer-centric brands, with the backing of industry leaders like Comcast, NBCUniversal, and Sky. Data Architect

This role, part of our larger technology team, is focused on product offerings such as Peacock across NBC Universal and Comcast. As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for leading several development projects and closely collaborating with Business/Product stakeholders to shape our technology's approach.

You'll collaborate with other architects and software delivery teams and offer expertise in areas like data acquisition, schema and data model design, high volume data processing/storage, distributed computing, building cloud-native applications, data virtualization, machine learning, analytics, integration, and data security.

The role demands that you lead the technical solution design and help build a data-driven business using intelligent, data-driven decisions in areas like Content Acquisition, Product/Feature Design, Marketing, Sales & Service, Advertising, and Customer Journeys across our Direct-to-Consumer products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with stakeholders to create a data strategy that addresses Peacock’s data needs.
  • Mapping business requirements to system or technical requirements.
  • Designing and developing technical solutions to meet stakeholder data needs.
  • Working alongside technology platform architects to review, enhance, and improvise on technical solutions.
  • Creating an inventory of required data and a vision of data flow through the organization.
  • Specifically designing and building cloud-native solutions that are scalable, efficient, and utilize best-of-breed technologies and services.
  • Effectively communicating costs and benefits of solution approaches and predicting future requirements.
  • Leveraging data science, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, to craft superior data-driven solutions and products.
  • Designing new tools for direct data ingestion, real-time data processing, segmentation, personalization, and decision support.
  • Identifying and evaluating data ingestion and management technologies to automate data ingestion and processing.
  • Ensuring a clear focus on Data Governance, including metadata management, data lineage/provenance, data cataloguing, data protection, and data quality.
  • Implementing data protection measures, including anonymization and access controls.
  • Creating and enforcing data governance policies and procedures to maintain data quality, privacy, and compliance.
  • Monitoring, refining, and reporting on data management systems’ performance.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in defining solution architecture and strategic direction to deliver Data products and capabilities.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in designing web-scale solutions on public cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred, but comparable experience on AWS or Azure considered).
  • Experience with Big Data offerings on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), like BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Dataprep, Pub/Sub, DLP, etc., or equivalent tools on AWS, Azure, or on-premises.
  • Proven experience in integrating with marketing, advertising, and analytical COTS products (Adobe, Braze, Google Ads, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
  • Significant experience in designing machine learning pipelines for intelligent insights and predictions.
  • Demonstrable experience with Data Governance tools and frameworks (Collibra, Alation, etc.)
  • Experience with data warehousing, data marts, and data lakes.
  • Experience in designing microservices, and in containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles.
  • A solid computer science background, including areas such as compute, storage, networking, and security.

This position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
