Michael Baker International, an esteemed provider of engineering and consulting services, is actively seeking a seasoned Data Architect to oversee the development and governance of a comprehensive, company-wide data model. This remote position offers a compelling opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our data infrastructure and standards, contributing significantly to our legacy of innovation and integrity.

About the Role:

The Data Architect will be responsible for building, maintaining, and governing an integrative data model and data standards across the organization. With strategic partnerships with data stewards and IT leadership, this role is crucial in creating a canonical data architecture that underpins all data-producing applications and processes. The role extends to developing roadmaps to unify various data sources within a cohesive MDM/Data Catalog ecosystem, aiming to ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the enhancement of data quality and consistency across different business functions.
  • Streamline data models and optimize the flow of data for increased efficiency and delivery speed.
  • Formulate and enforce metadata naming standards across the company.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation outlining data standards, guidelines, and strategies.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to align technology roadmaps with business objectives, promoting high-quality design and technology solutions.
  • Drive continual IT improvements, focusing on Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Models, MDM solutions, and Data Cataloging.

Experience & Qualifications:

Applicants should have a minimum of 10 years of IT experience, including at least 4 years as a Data Architect. Technical proficiency in SQL or similar scripting languages and experience with Microsoft Azure stack are essential. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field is required, with a Master’s degree preferred. U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Compensation:

The position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $150,000, contingent on applicant's qualifications, experience, and location.
