Job Description: Data Engineer

Enlighten is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to support the acquisition of mission-critical data sets. The ideal candidate should have experience supporting cyber and/or network-related missions within the military sector, whether as a developer, analyst, or engineer. This role requires onsite customer support in Augusta, GA, 75% of the time.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Experience working with big data systems and complex structured and unstructured data sets
• Background in government data acquisition, analysis, and sharing efforts
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to understand technical complexities
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a large team to achieve client objectives

Minimum Qualifications

• Current TS/SCI with CI Poly level security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required
• 5+ years of experience as a developer, analyst, or engineer with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree; or High School Diploma and 9 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java
• Experience with network data acquisition and understanding associated metadata
• Fluency in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, including data preparation and labeling for analytics
• Experience with Kibana and Elasticsearch
• Familiarity with log formats such as JSON and XML
• Experience with data flow, management, and storage solutions like Kafka, NiFi, AWS S3, and SQS
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and dataflow issues
• Strong communication skills for daily customer interaction
• Ability to work onsite 75% of the time in customer spaces
• Compliance certification (Security+) according to DoD 8140 / 8570 standards

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with NOSQL databases such as Accumulo
• Prior experience in cyber and/or network security operations within a large enterprise as an analyst, engineer, architect, or developer
