Key Responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer, you will:

• Provide essential reporting for multiple teams, facilitating finance accounting, audit requirements, and operational billing accuracy.
• Identify and address discrepancies in financial data due to source data changes.
• Collaborate with various teams within Octopus to refine and optimize data logic.
• Develop flexible tools for advanced, granular data calculations.
• Create and manage dashboards to automate reports and monitor data integrity.
• Enhance pipeline architecture for scalability and support new projects.
• Assist Gross Margin accountants and analysts in advancing their coding proficiency.

Who We're Looking For:

Ideal candidates will have:

• Proficiency in SQL and Python with a strong analytical mindset.
• An eye for detail to effectively troubleshoot and solve issues.
• Capability to quickly grasp new domains and visualize data.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex code into understandable terms for various stakeholders.
• Enthusiasm for managing diverse projects and tools, with a spirit of collaboration and ownership.
• Experience with dbt, Airflow, and Spark optimization is highly desirable.

Our Data Stack Includes:

• SQL-based dbt pipelines on Databricks
• Data analysis through Python notebooks and Pyspark jobs on Databricks workflows
• Dashboard creation with Streamlit and Python
• ETL management via Airflow
• Data documentation tools like Notion/Secoda
