Data Engineer (Finance) - CooperSurgical
Collaborate with the Director of Data Engineering, Business Intelligence Leads, and other data engineers to design and maintain the PBI infrastructure and environment. Support CSI enterprise reporting and analytics infrastructure, bridging the gap between business units and the Data Engineering Solutions Architect. Enhance and extend the CSI Common Data Model, ensuring all necessary data is available for timely and actionable analysis, reporting, and insight-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer, you will:
- Design and develop high-quality, scalable data assets
- Maintain data pipelines and flows
- Implement best-in-class data visualization and reporting solutions
- Oversee data verification processes for consolidated enterprise data
- Prototype innovative solutions using cutting-edge technologies
- Provide technical consulting and leadership
- Coordinate with cross-functional IT stakeholders
- Evaluate and estimate stakeholder feature requests
- Develop advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive modeling and machine learning
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the BI team
- Travel up to 5% annually
Qualifications
Requirements include:
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
- Expertise in SQL, MS Synapse, MS Power BI, and complementary data analytics tools
- Experience building Power BI Data Pipelines and Data Flows
- Knowledge of MS Azure Data Lakes and MS Azure Fabric
- Experience with MS D365 F&O functionality and data models
- Familiarity with MS D365 CRM and MS Navision is a plus
- Proven ability to deliver innovative solutions in an agile environment
- Self-starter with the ability to work remotely and independently
Work Environment
This role involves a minimal travel requirement of up to 5% annually, with some travel to other CSI offices and facilities.
Experience
We require:
- 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience in data modeling and engineering
- 5+ years of experience in data, analytics, reporting, and business intelligence roles
- Understanding of financial reporting needs and finance experience
- Experience in software development and solution architecture is a plus
- Experience in life sciences and manufacturing industries preferred
- Experience with data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) is a differentiator
Education
A Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline is required. Alternatively, 5 years of relevant professional experience can be substituted for the degree.
