About the Job

As a Data Engineer at RHI Magnesita, you will join a global team of data engineers and experts, reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics Delivery. Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing comprehensive analytics solutions, ranging from data extraction and ingestion to transformation and consumption. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to leverage data from SAP S/4HANA systems and utilize cloud-based technologies, including Azure Data Lake and Databricks, to support business decisions. Additionally, you will employ agile techniques and Scrum methodology to manage projects efficiently and ensure timely delivery of data solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Extracting data from various SAP source objects (such as CDS views, extractors, tables) with an emphasis on efficient delta extraction.
• Optimizing data transformation processes to enhance performance and scalability.
• Developing SQL databases and other tools necessary for data retrieval and analytics.
• Ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance with data governance and security policies.
• Documenting processes and coding consistently and comprehensively.

Education & Skills

• Higher education (or comparable work experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Profound knowledge of SAP / SAP S/4HANA data structures, data extraction methods, and a basic understanding of SAP business processes.
• Proficiency in SQL and other programming languages used in data transformation.

Languages

• English – Proficient/Fluent
• Any additional language is considered an asset.

Work Experience

• A few years of experience in data engineering, ideally utilizing SAP source systems.
• Experience with Azure cloud services, particularly Azure Data Lake and Databricks.
• Solid experience in developing and managing SQL databases.

The annual gross salary for this position starts from €60,000 on a full-time basis, with adjustments based on your qualifications, experience, overtime, and seniority level. We will ensure a competitive salary package that values your relevant background and aligns with market rates.
