About the Role

We are seeking a Data Scientist to analyze performance metrics at the class of business, syndicate, and market levels. You will create dashboards, develop predictive models, and employ machine learning techniques to enhance analytics in Market Reserving and Capital.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Reviewing and validating data returns received by Lloyd’s.
  • Delivering predictive analytics to offer insights on reserves, capital, and underwriting performance drivers.
  • Utilizing strategic tools to provide insights to Market Reserving and Capital, Finance, Markets, and Risk teams.
  • Collaborating with Operations and IT to implement new models into production.
  • Supporting best practice actuarial modeling techniques and processes.
  • Recommending new tools and methods for improved analysis and oversight.
  • Highlighting material modeling risks to key stakeholders.
  • Developing new methods for understanding and predicting key performance drivers.
  • Offering training and support to ensure consistent understanding of new models and techniques.
  • Staying current with data science and machine learning advancements.
  • Presenting analysis results to diverse audiences.
  • Championing machine learning and predictive analytics within the team.
  • Enhancing the efficiency and reliability of data capabilities within the Predictive Analytics team.
  • Developing and refining MRC reports and processes.
  • Providing broader business support as needed.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, R, and VBA.
  • Proven track record of high-quality, independently defined tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience managing projects and delivering coordinated outputs.
  • Ability to conduct detailed technical analyses with minimal guidance.
  • Clear communication skills tailored to different audiences.
  • Strong relationship-building capabilities and team contribution.
  • Background in mathematics, actuarial science, or computer science.
  • Other relevant professional qualifications.
