Data Scientist (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

This method allows non-invasive collection and analysis of biomarkers found in exhaled breath, which aids early disease detection and precision medicine. We are currently looking for a Data Scientist who has demonstrated significant achievements in decision-making based on data. The successful candidate will have the ability to identify business or engineering difficulties and transform them into data science problems. They should proficiently source data, carry out in-depth analysis and modeling. Additionally, they should work with project managers and engineering teams to incorporate these solutions into operations. The role entails teamwork with other data scientists, data engineers, informaticians, biostatisticians, analytical scientists, and systems and mechanical engineers to enhance our models and their understanding. The key responsibilities for this role include supporting scientific efforts through data processing and visualisation tools, working closely with scientists on algorithm development that enhances sensitivity and selectivity, developing Machine Learning (ML) algorithms that are production-ready and thoroughly tested, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for comprehensive product development, helping in experimental designs when needed, presenting data analysis techniques and visualisations to the organization, and maintaining pipelines and code development. Further to this, you will also be expected to play an active role in the success of the information science group. The requirements for this role includes experience in Python, Data Analysis and Visualization libraries (like Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Plotly, etc.), Machine Learning libraries (like Scikit-learn, Keras, Tensorflow, etc.), and scripting/programming and pipelining tools. Other essential skills include experience in handling raw data collected from laboratory and non-laboratory environments and scientific instruments, a sound understanding of different Machine Learning algorithms, and effective communication skills. Familiarity with database management, using SQL and SQL Alchemy, Git, CI/CD best practices, and Agile environments are desirable.
