The ISE team is a pioneering engineering group within Microsoft, working directly with our most strategic Healthcare and Life Sciences customers. We are committed to innovative collaboration that enables our clients to tackle their most challenging problems through cutting-edge technological solutions and meaningful partnerships.

Role Overview: Dynamic Opportunities to Drive Change

As a Data Scientist in the ISE, your role will be pivotal in developing and operationalizing machine learning models to transform data into actionable insights. You will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and program managers on your team, as well as directly interact with our customers' teams. This role not only allows you to apply your analytical skills and creativity but also helps you grow and excel in a cutting-edge technological environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Modeling and Statistical Analysis: Apply machine learning techniques and algorithms, write scripts in various programming languages, and design and operationalize models at scale.
• Business Understanding and Impact: Make significant contributions to projects by understanding business needs and applying data science expertise.
• Data Preparation and Understanding: Manage data collection and preparation, develop evaluation methods, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Coding and Debugging: Demonstrate superior coding and debugging capabilities across multiple projects.
• Customer/Partner Orientation: Deliver solutions that are tailored to customer needs and enhance their trust in Microsoft products.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates should have a minimum of three years of data science experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Alternatively, a Master's degree with two years of experience, or a PhD, or equivalent practical experience is acceptable. Demonstrated expertise in applying machine learning models in real-world settings is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, experience working with diverse and virtual teams, and are comfortable with traveling up to 25%. Knowledge of foundation models and large language models is highly beneficial.
