Data Scientist

What We'll Bring:

This role is responsible for assisting in the development of analytic solutions through consulting projects for TransUnion’s clients in a wide range of credit, fraud, insurance, and marketing business applications. This role requires a basic understanding of US financial services risk management practices.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in statistics, applied mathematics, financial mathematics, computer science, engineering, operations research, or another highly quantitative field with at least one (1) year of relevant professional experience.

• Proven ability to develop and deploy machine learning models through all stages of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and innovative problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced programming skills and aptitude; proficiency with statistical programs such as R or Python; experience with other programming and data manipulation languages and big data platforms (SQL, Hive, Spark, C/C++, Java); strong familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into articulate actionable recommendations in a way that is suitable for influencing business partners and decision-makers internally and externally for desired results.
• Knowledge of identity, fraud, security, or credit bureau data and solutions.
• The ambition to work with full-stack data science solutions and a commitment to continual learning.
• Proven ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision in a complex and changing, matrix environment.
• Work experience in industries TransUnion serves, including financial services, insurance, and digital marketing.
