Data Scientist Job at Natera™ - Exciting Opportunity in Genetic Research
Position Summary: As a Data Scientist at Natera™, you will be an integral part of our R&D Data group, engaging in the design and prototyping of innovative algorithms essential for the analysis of genetic data. This role directly supports our Oncology program, playing a key role in advancing our research goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze next-generation sequencing data, handling diverse datasets from single research experiments to extensive commercial sets involving hundreds of thousands of samples.
- Develop robust Python software infrastructure to enhance algorithm testing and simulation studies.
- Actively contribute to both research and product development within our Bioinformatics group.
- Apply rigorous mathematical analysis and principles of statistics and probability to derive correct conclusions.
- Create high-quality technical documentation, including research reports and precise algorithm specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Math, Statistics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of practical experience in scientific data analysis utilizing Python or similar software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong foundation in probability theory and/or statistics, including knowledge of joint and conditional probability distributions, parameter estimation, and hypothesis testing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a keen interest in working in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Experience with next-generation sequencing technology and genetic testing is an advantage.
Salary and Location:
This position is remote within the USA, with a salary range of $103,600 to $129,450, depending on various factors including skills, experience, and location.
