Role Overview: Data Scientist Co-op

As a vital part of Visier's R&D group, our data science team plays a crucial role in creating sophisticated algorithms and statistical methods that extract meaningful insights from HR data. Under the guidance of experienced Data Scientists, you will engage in projects that align with your interests as well as Visier's business objectives. Responsibilities could range from enhancing our machine learning pipelines to delving into extensive research that unveils key insights across our massive, multi-million employee dataset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Modeling problems to address underlying business challenges directly.
• Identifying essential data for solving specific business issues.
• Applying statistical analysis and machine learning models to data.
• Defining metrics to evaluate the success of models and projects.
• Presenting findings and collaborating with stakeholders throughout the organization.
• Conducting independent research to enhance domain knowledge and adopt advanced techniques.

What We Expect:

• Robust understanding of statistics and the application of scientific methods using algorithms.
• Programming proficiency in Scala, Python, or similar languages.
• Excellent attention to detail and capability to understand broader business perspectives.
• Experience in hypothesis testing, machine learning, or scientific analysis is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The entry monthly salary for this role in Canada is $5,500. Final compensation packages, potentially including bonuses and other incentives, will be determined by your qualifications, experience, and skills.
