Job Description

In line with its growth, Sia Partners is recruiting data scientist consultants with a strong expertise in operations research.

Their role will be to take charge of, in synergy with our various practices, work and missions requiring the implementation of complex models to support our clients with their issues related to:

  • Operations research: assisting with design and implementation of constrained linear optimization solutions and advanced simulation models;
  • Machine learning and statistics: developing explanatory and predictive decision support models (supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms, econometrics, forecasting, quantitative diagnosis, etc.);
  • Big Data: algorithm knowledge for processing large volumes of unstructured data.

As part of the company's internal activities, your participation will revolve around the following axes:

  • The development or reinforcement of our offers through training, working groups, R&D projects, distribution of internal and external resources...
  • The publication policy (sectorial blogs, studies, press releases...)
  • Business development by contributing to the definition of needs and participating in commercial actions.

Qualifications

You have a degree from an Engineering School or a high-level training in the field of operations research, information processing, statistical engineering and econometrics and ideally have some initial experience in Optimization, Big Data or Data Science (internship or 1st job).

You have an excellent level in applied mathematics, statistics and quantitative analysis (theoretical and practical knowledge, intuition, ability to understand models and apply them).

You are conversant with programming in R (or equivalent: SAS, Matlab ...) and/or have solid basics in scripting languages (Python, Julia, Perl, JS, bash) or compiled languages (C++, Java) and/or have experience in UNIX/LINUX environments.

You have worked with optimization solvers and are comfortable configuring them (CPLEX, Gurobi or equivalent), you are familiar with solving problems through dynamic programming, classical optimization heuristics and the development of metaheuristics.

You wish to get involved and quickly take on responsibilities on high value-added missions and internal R&D projects within a dynamic structure.

Professional-level fluency in French and English is essential.
