We're seeking a Data Scientist / Data Steward to join our ever-growing Data & Analytics Team. This hybrid role, newly created due to our expansion, combines data science and data stewardship to create models, implement machine learning, AI, and perform data analysis.
Role Description
As a Data Scientist / Data Steward, you will work within a team of Data Stewards, serving as experts for data sources to ensure data quality, metadata management, and providing both internal and external support in line with our service level agreements. This position is ideal for individuals who are courageous, tenacious, creative, curious, optimistic, and eager for growth in business-minded leadership.
Location
This role is based in our Atlanta or Alpharetta, Georgia office and requires a hybrid schedule: in-office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal clients throughout prototype development and deployment phases.
- Integrate various data sources, types, and structures into comprehensive solutions.
- Develop analytical methodologies to meet business requirements, including translating requests into use cases, test cases, and preparation of training datasets.
- Research and deploy innovative data solutions in cloud computing to solve market issues.
- Apply AI/ML techniques for predictive analytics and mine Big Data to uncover new insights.
- Expand our industry-leading AI/ML patent portfolio on Explainable AI.
- Create and integrate visualizations for big data machine learning models.
- Develop and implement NLP solutions for keying and linking data.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop advanced solutions.
- Stay updated on new developments in AI, Machine Learning, Big Data, Predictive Analytics, and Cloud Technology.
- Develop automated, threshold-based reports for quality monitoring and act on the findings.
- Ensure compliance with data custodianship, data usage, and internal control processes.
- Promote data awareness to facilitate new opportunities and synergies.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
- 3+ years of experience in predictive analytics and modeling.
- 3+ years of experience in data handling, quality tools, and Big Data ecosystems (e.g., SQL, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery). Strong SQL skills required.
- 3+ years of experience with Python, Tensorflow, and Spark.
- Experience or academic coursework in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- 3+ years of experience developing AI/ML models using Matlab, Python, Scala/Spark, or SAS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to develop data-driven solutions that meet business objectives.
- Experience with big data platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, Snowflake, Hadoop.
- Experience with NLP, LLMs, and Generative AI.
- Proactive attention to data governance, regulatory requirements, and compliance policies.
- Proven capability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
- Creativity, drive, and a desire for thought leadership and strategic thinking.
- Strong leadership skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
