Role Overview

Data Science is integral to Lyft’s products and decision-making processes. This role is within Lyft Business, our most profitable segment, serving various enterprises such as medical care providers, management consultancies, and rental car companies. You'll develop actionable insights to better serve these enterprises using Lyft’s unique capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish business metrics to measure product health and user experience.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, marketers, designers, and operators for actionable business insights.
• Identify growth opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Design and analyze product experiments, and communicate results effectively.
• Develop frameworks for monitoring and visualizing business and product performance.
• Mentor junior data scientists and provide data-driven leadership to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (statistics, economics, applied math, operations research, or engineering). Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) are preferred.
• 2+ years of industry experience in product analytics, science, or statistics.
• Proficiency in SQL for efficient querying of large datasets.
• Experience in programming, particularly with Python data science and visualization libraries.
• Basic or higher-level experience with Machine Learning.
• Skilled in experimentation and statistical analysis.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional partners.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence 3 days per week in San Francisco: Mondays, Thursdays, and one team-specific day. You also have the flexibility to work from anywhere up to 4 weeks per year. The expected base pay range for this position in San Francisco is $128,000 - $150,000, with total compensation depending on qualifications, experience, and location. Additional equity offerings, bonuses, and benefits are provided.
