We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join the Messenger Data Science team at Meta. As a Data Scientist, you will work on solving a wide array of product and technical problems, collaborating with cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Finance, and other departments. By leveraging data and analysis, you will identify and tackle the most pressing product development challenges, influencing product strategy and investment decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with large, complex data sets to address challenging problems through various analytical and statistical approaches.
  • Apply quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop strategies that serve billions of users and businesses.
  • Define, understand, and test opportunities to improve products, driving roadmaps through your insights and recommendations.
  • Identify and measure product outcomes through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring key product metrics.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Data Science, with extensive experience in experimentation.
  • Strong ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and cross-functionally, including Engineering, PM/TPM, Analytics, and Finance.
  • Effective framing and communication skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and drive, decisiveness, and comfort with ambiguity and complexity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, and experimentation/causal inference methods.
  • Track record of driving leadership level outcomes.
  • Master's or Ph.D. Degree in a quantitative field.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $253,000/year to $314,000/year, not including potential bonuses, equity, or benefits.
