About the Role: Data Scientist - Early Career

The Data Science team at Figma works closely with our product and engineering teams to uncover insights, influence decisions, and solve critical business problems through data analysis. Our diverse and evolving work gives you the opportunity to tackle a wide range of technical challenges from data engineering, analytics, experimentation, and machine learning. We seek data scientists with a solid foundation in coding and statistics who can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

What You'll Do at Figma:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Research, Design, Sales, and Marketing to transform business questions into data challenges.
  • Evaluate experiments to measure the impact of product changes.
  • Define and surface metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Communicate and document data logging and requirements.
  • Build models to understand user behavior and predict growth.
  • Provide thoughtful feedback to team members.

In Your First Few Months, You'll:

  • Work with an onboarding buddy to make your first edits to our data tables and dashboards.
  • Gain deep context and expertise in Figma's data and product.
  • Deliver your first product analysis.

We're Interested in Candidates Who:

  • Have a strong background in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or another quantitative field.
  • Have experience with R, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Possess knowledge of statistical methods and models.
  • Are self-starters with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Pay Transparency Disclosure:

If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has an annual base salary range of $140,000—$140,000 USD. Actual compensation depends on individual qualifications, market demands, and work location. For remote positions, pay range is localized by a factor of 80%-100% of the range.
