Join Our Experimentation Team as a Data Scientist at idealo (m|f|x)

As part of the Experimentation Team at idealo, you will play a crucial role in shaping how millions of users experience our platform. Our platform team designs and enhances tools and practices for experiments, enabling Marketing and Product teams to gain deeper insights into our users' behaviors. Combining expertise in engineering, data science, statistics, and coaching, we offer Self-Service Insights as a service.

This position is available on a full-time or part-time basis.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Working closely with your team, you will develop a platform that allows idealo's Marketing and Product teams to derive causal insights. You will support other idealo teams with their experiments, including A/B testing, both in statistical methodology and technical implementation. Your role also involves connecting data-driven insights with products used by millions.

What We Look For

We are looking for candidates who are curious and continually learning by doing—with a hands-on approach. You should possess:

• Strong statistical knowledge and the ability to convert data into causal insights. Advanced understanding of frequentist causal inference is a plus.
• Proficiency in documenting experiments comprehensively covering details, methods, and outcomes.
• Experience in data science, applying statistics in corporate environments or related research areas.
• Knowledge of a programming language, preferably Python or R, and SQL.
• Experience with version control systems like Git, and familiarity with AWS and cost estimations.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is beneficial but not necessary.

Nice to Have

An interest in Machine Learning for potential future collaboration with our Machine Learning Engineering team and a background in quantitative social sciences is appreciated.
