Job Summary As a member of our Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Solutions team, this role entails using complex mathematical and statistical methods to tackle business challenges. Data Scientists gather, incorporate, and examine data from sources relating to our members' health status and outcomes, the qualities of healthcare providers, internal business procedures, and other areas. They perform intricate statistical analyses on experimental or business data to verify and quantify patterns or trends identified by business analysts. They also use machine learning and probabilistic modelling to build predictive algorithms that aid data analysis or product functions, verifying the efficacy of these models and algorithms through real-world results. Furthermore, Data Scientists design experiments and methodologies to generate and gather data for business use and create visualizations, interactive analytical applications and interpretive materials to support the business application of data science findings. Required Job Qualifications: - A Bachelor’s degree and 1-year work experience in a mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics or related quantitative field; OR an Actuarial credential; OR a Master’s degree in an advanced mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics or related quantitative field without experience; OR 5 years experience in an advanced mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics or related quantitative field. - A mindset focused on learning and growth. - A customer-oriented approach. - Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. - Experience in at least four of the following six areas: 1) data analysis and relational-style query languages; 2) machine learning and/or statistical modeling; 3) data visualization; 4) a high-level programming language; 5) distributed computing; 6) understanding of healthcare. Preferred Job Qualifications: A Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field, or a Bachelor's degree with significant healthcare experience.
