We are excited to announce an opening for a passionate Data Scientist to become a part of our Legal Analytics team within the Finance Data & Insights group at Spotify. This pivotal role involves collaborating with the Legal, Finance, and Accounting teams to enhance our operations through expert data analytics, process automation, and technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist, you will:

• Collaborate with a diverse team of data scientists, engineers, and other partners to develop and refine systems that support our Legal, Finance, and Accounting functions.
• Utilize your deep knowledge of the Spotify data ecosystem to manage data for legal and financial operational needs.
• Work closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and produce complex data outputs.
• Handle large datasets to solve intricate problems within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Enhance process efficiencies by automating operations and creating data pipelines for self-service reporting and analytics.
• Engage in a high-energy workplace along with a team dedicated to Spotify's continuing success.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Possess a strong passion for solving challenging problems through data analysis and have a keen business sense.
• Be able to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Draw actionable insights from analysis to support business decisions.
• Have prior experience in data analytics, specifically with financial and legal data, and a minimum of 3 years in a related role.
• Hold a degree in Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or another related field.
• Be proficient in SQL and Python with desirable skills in other analytical tools like Pandas, R, and BigQuery, as well as in visualization tools such as Tableau.

Location & Benefits

This hybrid position is based in our New York offices, requiring your presence for 2 to 3 days weekly, operating within the Eastern time zone. The role offers a competitive salary range of $86,691.00 to $123,844.00 plus equity, with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, paid parental leave, 401(k) plans, paid time off, flexible holidays, and sick leave.
