About the Role:

Amazon AWS is on the lookout for a highly skilled and inventive Data Scientist to join our pioneering AI team. This role centers on innovating and building the next generation of language technology using advanced machine learning techniques. You will be instrumental in driving projects that lever company-wide capabilities in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI, Machine Learning (ML), and more.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Data Scientist at Amazon, you will:

• Develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to push the boundaries of human language technology.
• Work alongside top-tier experts to implement models that impact millions of customers directly by enhancing products and services.
• Collaborate on the development of a new NLP service for AWS, influencing the science roadmap and strategic direction.

The AWS Bedrock Science Team, a segment of AWS Utility Computing, is dedicated to building robust science foundations for Bedrock—our managed service that offers state-of-the-art foundation models through a unified API. Our daily work involves addressing complex NLP needs with innovative, efficient, and scalable solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, or computer science.
• Minimum 2 years experience with data querying languages like SQL and scripting languages like Python.
• At least 1 year of direct data scientist experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong familiarity with data visualization tools such as AWS QuickSight, Tableau, or R Shiny.
• Proven ability in managing complex data pipelines.
• Prior leadership experience in a data science environment.
