Role Overview

A role with Target Data Sciences means the chance to help develop and manage state-of-the-art predictive algorithms that utilize data at scale to automate and optimize decisions. Core Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist in Generative AI, you will:

• Influence by interacting within the applied Data Sciences team.
• Perform data exploration, identify anomalies, and create simple visualizations.
• Implement algorithmic solutions in applied ML while adhering to best practices in model development.
• Create a maintainable and well-documented codebase in Python, R, or Java.
• Follow agile processes to implement prototypes for software or data science solutions.
• Leverage your business domain understanding to align with Target’s strategic goals.
• Collaborate with peers, document, and present work, and participate in code reviews.

About You

Required qualifications include:

• A 4-year degree in Quantitative disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent work experience.
• Strong fundamentals in Probability, Statistics, Linear Algebra, and Machine Learning modeling.
• Experience in one or more domains: generative AI, statistical learning, optimization, NLP, deep learning, or time series analysis.
• Strong analytical thinking skills with creative problem-solving abilities.
• Hands-on programming skills in Python, R, or Java.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to tell data-driven stories through visualizations, graphs, and narratives.
• A self-driven, results-oriented team player who can collaborate effectively across geographies/time zones.

Work Arrangement

This position operates as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs, requiring both onsite presence at the Target HQ MN location and virtual work depending on the role's requirements. Work duties cannot be performed outside the country of the primary work location unless prescribed by Target.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72,100.00 - $129,800.00, based on factors such as position, labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
