What You'll Do

As a Simulation Scientist, you will tackle complex challenges within Amazon's Last Mile network. You'll have the chance to:

  • Design and simulate novel engineering solutions for intricate material handling issues, considering various operational factors including human and equipment interaction.
  • Lead simulations ensuring optimal solutions through careful process design, equipment specification, and comprehensive site layout considerations.
  • Work directly with diverse groups to translate business problems into clear and organized data solutions.
  • Create sophisticated models to conduct "what-if" scenarios, driving towards the most effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and cross-functional partners to innovate and refine solutions.
  • Document and standardize simulation procedures and findings to guide future projects.

This role is centrally focused on building simulations and experimentation systems to forecast and optimize the performance of our Last Mile delivery network.

Who You Are

If you're an analytical thinker with a penchant for problem-solving within complex data environments, our team needs you. Ideal candidates will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years in a data science role, with hands-on experience in data querying and scripting languages such as SQL and Python.
  • Strong background in developing machine learning models and statistical analysis.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex data insights to stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds.
  • Experience in Python, Perl, or other scripting languages is highly desirable.
