Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist II at Amazon, you will:

• Implement and design data science solutions to complex business challenges where the approach is not predefined.
• Identify new business opportunities and insights, using your deep understanding of Amazon data and industry best practices.
• Evaluate existing systems and models for inefficiencies, and propose data-driven solutions to enhance business and customer outcomes.
• Develop robust data acquisition strategies, leveraging SQL/ETL queries and scripts.
• Analyze data sets for trends and validity, applying advanced statistical and modeling techniques.
• Create and validate predictive models using diverse computational approaches, from traditional statistical modeling to cutting-edge machine learning techniques.
• Work collaboratively with product engineering teams to integrate analytical models into customer-facing products.

Basic Qualifications

Prospective candidates should have:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a data scientist.
• Proficient in SQL and either Python or another scripting language.
• Extensive experience in machine learning and statistical modeling.
• A Master's degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

While these aren't required, the following qualifications are desirable:

• Experience in Python, Perl, or other scripting languages.
• Prior role in a machine learning or data science capacity within a large technology firm.
