About Our Team: DEX

DEX, the Kotak’s Data Exchange, is at the heart of data innovation for Kotak Bank, managing the data experience through platforms for Data Engineering, Data Governance, and closely collaborating with the Analytics team. Our progressive projects include transitioning from on-premise solutions to scalable AWS cloud-based platforms, offering an exciting environment for hands-on experience in building top-tier data lakehouse solutions.

The team, situated primarily in Bangalore, is forecasted to grow to over 100 members working across approximately 10 sub-teams. This dynamic setup promises not just a job, but a leap into the future of fintech, digital transformation, and next-generation banking technology utilizing AI.

Data Platform Vertical

Responsibilities include building and optimizing data storage, managing a centralized data lake, and ensuring high-concurrency data handling with state-of-the-art data warehouse solutions.

Data Engineering Vertical

This division focuses on maintaining data pipelines for vast datasets, developing scalable data models, and ensuring robust data integrations across the organization.

Data Governance Vertical

Central to Kotak's strategy, this team manages Metadata platforms, Data Privacy, Security, Stewardacy, and Quality, ensuring that data governance aligns with organizational standards and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, your daily activities will include leading technical decision-making, driving the design and deployment of scalable data infrastructures, and integrating AWS technologies seamlessly into our operations. Your role will be pivotal in evolving data-driven strategies and improving overall data utility.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, possess strong data engineering skills, and have a robust understanding of AWS technologies like S3, Redshift, and EMR. Programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala and advanced SQL capabilities are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have a deeper engagement with AWS services, a background in the Indian Banking sector or Fintrek, and experience with distributed data systems and non-relational databases. An aptitude to handle complex, large-scale data solutions is especially favorable.
