Job Summary: Data Scientist III, GPS India Operations (MLOps)

The Data Scientist III will be pivotal in supporting operational analytics across Global Product & Supply (GPS). This role aims to address pressing GPS analytics needs with opportunities to develop advanced analytics capabilities in predictive modeling, simulation, and optimization. The individual will provide technical expertise to develop, deploy, and maintain descriptive and AI/ML pipelines, solutions, and products to further GPS’s digital strategy. Additionally, this role will offer ongoing technical support for business operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy predictive and descriptive models to solve complex business problems related to GPS analytics.
  • Design, implement, and maintain advanced, automated data pipelines for data science products and machine learning solutions, ensuring reliability and scalability.
  • Champion MLOps practices throughout the machine learning lifecycle, from development to deployment and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline and model issues.
  • Support migration and transition activities related to BIA GPS data and analytics, collaborating with relevant teams.
  • Collaborate with functional team members on testing upgrades and implementations.
  • Align BIA GPS tech stack with the enterprise tech stack and IT compliance standards.
  • Work hours permitting sufficient overlap with standard East Coast US time.

Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related analytical, engineering, operations research, or scientific discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing predictive and prescriptive ML/AI models.
  • 1+ years of experience with MLOps principles and tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow). Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Expert in Python/R, SQL, dbt.
  • Proficient with GitHub.
  • Experience in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, Domino, etc.).
  • Familiarity with process and data tools (JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, Oracle, Redshift, PostgreSQL, CDP Impala, Athena).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex analyses to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in the biopharma industry is a plus.
