About the Role:

Join our dynamic Commodity Insights team as a Data Scientist III where you will focus on developing and implementing machine learning and deep learning models. This Grade 10 position offers the opportunity to lead in the design, deployment, and optimization of ML systems that enhance our natural language understanding, data extraction, and information retrieval capabilities.

Team Overview:

As part of the global Commodity Insights team, you will be instrumental in deploying ML/LLM powered products. Your work will directly impact S&P Global and our clients by improving our analytical product offerings.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the entire cycle of AI product development from design to deployment.
  • Develop and implement machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
  • Conduct ML tests and benchmarks, and fine-tune model performance.
  • Extend and improve our existing ML libraries and components.
  • Interpret analytical results and present strategic insights to stakeholders.
  • Perform code optimizations and review team contributions to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Mentor team members and lead project scrums to enhance collaborative results.

Technical Requirements:

  • 4-8 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer.
  • Advanced skills in Python and associated data science libraries (Numpy, Pandas, Spacy, Sklearn).
  • Extensive knowledge of ML & deep learning, web scraping, data extraction, and large-scale model deployment.
  • Familiarity with AWS technologies and containerization tools like Docker.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art (SOTA) models in NLP is highly desirable.
