Job Description Overview

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will engage in advanced analytics activities including analyzing data, developing machine learning models, conducting exploratory analysis, leveraging artificial intelligence, and exploring innovative opportunities for Perrigo. This role involves working on diverse projects independently as well as in team settings, tackling problems from traditional manufacturing datasets to novel biological response data and scientific research results. A diverse background in various domains is advantageous.

Scope of the Role

The intern will work closely with the Perrigo Advanced Analytics Manager and subject matter experts to:

• Collect and document process flows, requirements, and business value drivers.
• Define and understand problems and cleanse, structure, and analyze datasets to support project solutions.
• Develop machine learning models, model pipelines, and other solution components.
• Participate in code reviews, debug solutions, and validate model performance.
• Create documentation for solution code.

Experience Required

Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in business, computer science, data science, or related fields. Key qualifications include:

• Proficiency in R, Python, or other statistical languages.
• Experience with foundational models including tree models, regression models, and other ML algorithms.
• Knowledge of tools like Jupyter notebooks, Anaconda, or similar platforms is desired.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Excel, and Microsoft Azure or other cloud environments is a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills are crucial for success in this role.
• Excellent time management skills for handling long-term projects and ad-hoc/fast-prototype requests.
