OVERVIEW Streamline Defense is looking for a highly qualified individual to function as a Data Scientist, providing support to the Headquarters, United States Special Operations Command (HQ USSOCOM) J52 Integration. RESPONSIBILITIES This role entails assisting USSOCOM J52 in the development of USSOCOM strategy, policy, and plans. Through structured analytical studies of SOF strategies, plans, and posture, the Data Scientist provides crucial insights that inform USSOCOM's senior leaders and facilitate informed decision-making on aspects such as forces, footprints, and agreements; planning guidance and implementation; and force development. The Data Scientist will also offer on-site software programming expertise, focusing on database development, maintenance, and performance improvements. Responsibilities include: - Establishing and maintaining the adjudication structure for headquarters, JCS, and OSD tasks and processes. - Applying database theory to design table structures, relationships, queries, macros, forms, and reports, normalizing data and using data flow and entity relationship diagrams to complete daily tasks. Gathering requirements and designing databases to support assessments, analyses, and wargaming. - Assisting in the preparation and input of all data and databases used for assessments, analyses, and wargaming. Preparing data for analysis of results and creating links for files with results data. Providing presentation data in various formats. - Applying database design principles to build complex queries, generate reports, and use automation. Integrating analytical applications like R and Python modeling languages to the suite of Microsoft applications like Excel, SharePoint, Access, and Word. - Collaborating with operational technical experts. - Creating data management tools for supporting statistical/predictive analyses and advanced algorithms. Developing tools and reports to facilitate user access and data analysis. - Verifying and validating data for accuracy to ensure precise analysis results and applying a range of data-mining techniques to produce complex, accurate data representations. - Increasing data reuse for data reduction. - Developing unique data views and analysis which include dynamic visualizations and maps using various data sources. - Producing finished products for presentation and final reporting. REQUIREMENTS - Current TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility is required. - Preferred educational qualifications include a BA/BS in Applied Statistics, Operations Research, Systems Analysis, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or another related field. - Optional Specialization in Computer Coding, Database Management and Planning, Network Services Planning are beneficial.
