Data Scientist

Global Dimensions is a HUBZone, service-disabled, veteran-owned small business located in Fredericksburg, VA. We are a fast-growing company with compelling opportunities in language/culture, training/education/instruction, IT, cyber security, and intelligence (analysts, CI, HUMINT, SIGINT, etc.). Global Dimensions is currently seeking a Data Scientist for a position in Quantico, VA.

The Data Scientist will:

• Work independently and with a team to discern the client’s data objectives and develop data solutions to meet or surpass those objectives.
• Utilize skills in data analytics, programming, data visualization, and system integration to provide data solutions.
• Guide the client on the collection of data from diverse resources including Big Data resources.
• Use experience and known processes to clean the data and assimilate data as necessary.
• Use experience with structured and unstructured data and conduct preliminary data investigation and analysis to solve problems and develop data solutions.
• Utilize data science technologies such as machine learning, statistical modeling, and artificial intelligence to guide and assist with the design and execution of the client’s data solutions.
• Offer expertise as a database scientist and perform fairly complex analytical designs, developments, testing, and troubleshooting of computer software and data development tools.
• Help in outlining and enforcing the client’s database standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
• Ensure that the database solution allows efficient data availability with adequate safeguards.
• Keep up-to-date expertise in the application of automated tools for database design and execution.
• Offer technical advice, and present oral and written reports to non-technical users on the design, development, and implementation of security vulnerabilities and mitigation needs.
• Contribute to and develop office SOPs and provide weekly activity reports as required.

Requirements

• US Citizenship
• Current/Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
• BA in computer science or another related field and 10+ years of experience.
• Experience with common data science toolkits such as Apache Hadoop, Statistical Analysis Systems (SAS) and Tableau.
• Experience with a programming language like Python, R, Perl C++, and SQL.
• Experience with data visualization technologies like Tableau, PowerBI, QlikSense, Grafana or Kibana.
