At Nextdoor, we're seeking a driven and innovative Data Scientist to join our Growth Marketing team, focusing on new customer growth through data-driven insights and strategies. This role is pivotal in enhancing our marketing decision-making processes, both for gaining new members and increasing engagement from local businesses. You'll be at the forefront of deploying complex models to optimize investment strategies and decision-making, developing experiments, and analyzing data to hone our marketing efforts.

What Will You Be Doing?

You will:

  • Lead analytical projects from conception to completion, addressing ambiguous problems with a structured analytical framework.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate and optimize new strategies through data-driven insights and evaluations of past campaign performance.
  • Design and oversee experiments ensuring efficiency and accuracy, from the pre-launch phase through to post-release analysis.
  • Create scalable metrics and dashboards that directly influence our product strategy and operational decisions.
  • Ensure superior data quality and promote a data-centric culture within Nextdoor to help team members leverage data for successful outcomes.
  • Build meaningful in-person relationships with team members in line with Nextdoor’s KIND cultural values.
  • Educate stakeholders about the underlying "why" behind the data insights ("what").

Who are We Looking For?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, with a strong educational background in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, engineering, or economics.
  • Proven expertise in SQL, Python, and statistical modeling, with hands-on experience in A/B testing and applied statistics.
  • Exceptional communication skills tailored for a variety of audiences, including the ability to create compelling narratives for executive stakeholders.
  • Strong proactive problem-solving skills with an innate curiosity to derive insights that influence product and business decision-making.

Bonus Skills:

Experience with B2B marketing, complex attribution solutions, machine learning algorithms, and a deep understanding of online advertising dynamics are highly advantageous.
