As part of our team, you will:

  • Develop risk and pricing models for weather, climate, and geophysical risks, while optimizing tools to enhance process automation and efficiency.
  • Innovate new coverage concepts for primary insurance and reinsurance solutions.
  • Evaluate parametric products with a strong focus on weather, climate, and geophysical risks.
  • Expand access to extensive weather and climate data.
  • Analyze, model, and price existing contracts and new business opportunities worldwide, closely collaborating with underwriting teams.
  • Drive automation within the underwriting process and claims management, maintaining close contact with the global data science community.
  • Conduct both internal and external training programs on parametric insurance solutions and services.
  • Collaborate on product development and market cultivation projects.

Your Qualifications

We're looking for a candidate who has:

  • A degree in meteorology, geophysics, hydrology, or a related field, with a strong understanding of stochastics.
  • Initial experience in data analytics, particularly in assessing risks associated with natural hazards or parametric insurance, obtained through internships or student jobs.
  • Proficiency in working with geospatial data.
  • Knowledge of various data science methods.
  • Expertise in at least one higher programming language, R and Python are especially relevant.
  • Advanced English skills (level C1-C2). Knowledge of German and other languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel globally for business, approximately two to four times a year.
