Opportunity: Data Scientist - New Grad (2025 Start)

Join our Data team as a Data Scientist in Mountain View, CA. You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers to transform Databricks' business and operational data into actionable insights that drive product design, customer acquisition and retention strategies, and optimize system efficiency, stability, and performance.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Customer Success, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance) to solve complex problems using data.
  • Leverage data science methodologies to deliver insights and deploy algorithms on the Databricks platform.
  • Manage projects from requirements gathering and data exploration to presenting insights and deploying algorithms in production environments.

What We Look For

  • Graduating with a Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Operational Research, or Engineering) in December 2024 or Spring 2025, and ready to start immediately.
  • Proficiency in working with data using SQL and Python.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and machine learning methods, such as regression, classification trees, unsupervised learning, causal inference, stochastic processes, and time series forecasting.
  • Enthusiasm for solving ambiguous problems collaboratively.

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is dedicated to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this role is $140,000—$150,000 USD, depending on job-related skills, experience, certifications, and location.
