MORSE is looking for a Data Scientist skilled in data analysis, data science, and algorithm development across diverse areas such as visual classification, big data, natural language processing, machine translation, time sequenced data, and advanced metrics. You will be involved in teams conducting Test and Evaluation (T&E) of AI and machine learning algorithms, providing insights to our national security clients regarding the possibilities of implementing AI to tackle real-world challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out data analysis, test and evaluate existing machine learning algorithms, and develop sophisticated algorithms to emulate physical and autonomous systems.
- Collaborate with MORSE's current team of engineers to transition algorithms into software applications and real-time embedded systems.
- Facilitate the transition of the created algorithms into software using programming languages like Python, C, C++, Java, or MATLAB.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and other suppliers to present concepts, analyses, and test results.
- Propose a strategy forward and solutions to address complex data issues.
- Investigate and identify innovative methods for machine learning and data analysis.
Requirements:
- You must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining U.S. security clearance.
- Masters or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
- Possess a solid understanding of data analysis, physics, linear algebra, statistics, algorithms, optimization, and/or machine learning techniques.
- Competency in one or more programming languages like Python, MATLAB, C, or C++.
- Demonstrable experience with large, multidimensional, or complex data sets in areas like parsing, cleaning, storage strategies, provenance tracking, database formats, and parallelized data transformations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Previous experience in defense is a bonus.
